PING CMS features
Managing web pages
- Create pages
- Creating a page is no more than giving it a name. You can then add a preferred URL, search engine values and any of the advanced features you may want to use.
- Move pages
- Pages are either main menu pages, sub menu pages or loose pages that can be linked to from anywhere. At any time you can associate one page to another to create menu structures
- Adjust navigation order
- Simply tell the page what the order should be
- Version control
- If you save a page with mistakes on it then you can revert it back to one of the previous versions or use this same backup technique to display short term adverts
Editing content
- Use MS Office-style interface
- If you've used a program like Microsoft Word then you'll find our WYSIWIG (what you see is what you get) editor extremely easy to use.
- Insert links
- Within the page content you can create links to other pages on the website, external sites, as well as PDF and Word documents.
- Select from pre-defined styles
- Content editors are only able to select from pre-defined styles when formatting web pages, ensuring that the site maintains a consistent look and feel.
- Copy & paste from Word
- You can copy and paste content over from programs such as MS Word, with structural elements (e.g. lists, headings) being maintained. Our CMS will immediately clean up the inaccessible HTML code associated with text pasted from Word documents.
- Customise page layouts
- Using our custom-built widgets you can create a variety of different page layouts using the pre-defined page outlines (without the use of layout tables).
- Insert videos and images
- You can insert videos and images onto any web page at the click of a button.
- Amend search engine information
- The CMS automatically adds optimised search engine information to each page, which you're able to amend.
Resource management
- Add & delete resources
- You can upload any document, image, video or other file to the CMS. Any of these resources can be deleted at the click of a button and then retrieved from the recycle bin.
- Easily locate resources
- You can sort resources by name, last modified, type and date created, as well as being able to customise the resource manager view.
- Assign correct ALT text
- When uploading images the CMS prompts you to enter the correct type of alternative for that type of image.
Publishing pages
- Preview content
- All pages have 2 versions, live and preview, allowing you to make page changes without putting the modified page live immediately. Pages can also be previewed just before publishing.
- Schedule dates for publishing
- Pages can be set to go live and/or come down from the site at specified times - especially useful for time-sensitive content.
- Remove published pages
- You can take pages down from the live website without actually deleting them from the CMS, allowing you to republish them at a later date if need be.
- Have full editorial control
- You can provide content editors with different levels of access rights on the CMS. Restrictions could include only being able to edit certain site sections, being unable to create or delete pages or being allowed to only change content but not publish it.
Additional functionality
- Online forms
- You can create, edit and maintain forms for any section of the website, allowing your site visitors to easily contact you.
